Erasmus+ staff mobility in Galway, Ireland: A Memorable Experience
In mid-October, we—Alessandra Nanni, Jeanette Danielsson, and Kristina Leif—traveled to Galway, Ireland, to participate in a one-week English training program, funded by the Erasmus+ staff training grants. We would like to share some of the highlights of our experience and perhaps encourage you to apply for this program as well.
The Course: “English for the Educational Workplace”
The course we attended, “English for the Educational Workplace,” was organized by Atlantic Language School. It was specifically designed for educational professionals and included interactive workshops, role-playing, presentations, and exercises aimed at strengthening our language skills. The sessions helped us improve our ability to manage professional interactions in English and acquire valuable vocabulary for various workplace situations. We were part of a group of eight participants from various European countries, which made our discussions dynamic and insightful, adding to our cultural understanding. Our instructor was highly engaging and skilled, making each lesson both practical and inspiring.
Exploring Galway and Ireland
In addition to our intensive studies, we also had the opportunity to explore the city of Galway and truly take in Ireland’s breathtaking landscapes. One of the highlights was our excursion to the famous Cliffs of Moher, where we hiked and enjoyed stunning coastal views. Another unforgettable and dramatic experience was witnessing the raw power of nature as Storm Ashley hit the Atlantic coastline, bringing red weather warnings. The intensity of the storm left us all humbled by the sheer force of nature.
A Valuable Journey
Through this Erasmus+ experience, we not only gained practical language skills but also built connections and broadened our cultural understanding, making it a truly valuable professional and personal journey. We highly recommend the course and the programme!
